October 7, 2019 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed G3 Terminal Vancouver Berth Pocket Obstruction Removal project, located in North Vancouver, BC, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project
G3 Terminals is proposing to remove large angular rock obstructions from three locations in Burrard Inlet in the vicinity of the Vancouver Berth at G3 Terminals. The three identified rock obstructions will interfere with the transportation of marine vessels to and from the terminal berth and must be removed prior to terminal operations. The Project consists of using a clamshell bucket on a crane, supported by a spud barge to remove the rocks obstructions. Approximately 200 m3 of rock will be removed and placed within G3 Terminal's existing shoreline protection rip rap that was installed along the southern shoreline during construction of the berth. The works are proposed to occur during regular construction hours over the course of five days.
