The Proposed Project

New Coaxial/Fibre Cable Installation

Rogers Communications Inc. plans to install aerial coaxial/fibre cabling, for Internet purposes, to all residential homes in the communities of Chapel Island (Potlotek First Nation) and Wagmatcook First Nation. The project involves the installation of approximately 80 km in total of aerial coaxial/fibre cable.  For the community of Chapel Island (Potlotek First Nation), the installation will span from the intersection of Highway 4 and Soldiers Cove Road to the Council of Potlotek First Nation off Highway 4 while for Wagmatcook First Nation it will span from the intersection of Trans Canada Highway and Middle West River Road to the Macllellans Loop off Trans Canada Highway.

The cable will be attached to existing support structures such as utility/telephone poles that parallel existing roadways. Support structures may require structural improvements to support cable attachments.
