Parks Canada and Transport Canada have issued a notice of determination and decided that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This notice of determination is being issued by Parks Canada and Transport Canada under the Impact Assessment Act. Parks Canada and Transport Canada have decided that the Big Egg Lake Water Control Structure project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

• Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
• Indigenous knowledge;
• Community knowledge;
• Comments received from the public; and
• Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
