Gakijiwanong Anishinaabe Nation - Wellness Centre Development
January 14, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Wellness Centre Construction located in Gakijiwanong Anishinaabe Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project
Gakijiwanong Anishinaabe Nation is proposing to build a new wellness centre >1000m2 on an existing prepared site with water and sewer connections completed. There will be no further physical activities before construction as the site is already developed, but there will be re-grading and landscaping works once the construction is complete.
