GD 1105220 0XXX - Subd JT (90RUP, 5C) Lubicon Lake Band Ph 1 – Public Comments Invited

June 18, 2025 – Indigneous Servicces Canada must determine whether the proposed GD 1105220 0XXX - Subd JT (90RUP, 5C) Lubicon Lake Band Ph 1, located in Lubicon Lake Band is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigneous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The physical activities for the project include the construction, installation, modification, maintenance, expansion, replacement, removal, and operation of the gas distribution system including mains, services, equipment, facilities and infrastructure required to provide natural gas distribution service to the existing residents and commercial buildings within Lubicon Lake Band Settlement. The physical works within Lubicon Lake Band Settlement Lands include the installation of underground mains and services within the new residential subdivision identified in 1105220 DWG IFA R2. The gas mains will be installed by a combination of trenchless horizontal direction drilling, plowing and trenching with electrical and internet utilities. Additional tree clearing may be required in certain areas which will be identified during time of construction. Note that this submission is for ATCO Gas only and not on behalf of any other utilities doing work within the same area.
