Frog Lake Waste Management Transfer Station

A new waste management transfer station will be built to replace the existing facility at Frog Lake, Alberta.  The new facility will provide more effective management and separation of waste materials and improved safety and security.  In doing so they will reduce tipping fees and give the Frog Lake First Nation more control over the operations.  the project will include a 1.3ha site adjacent to the existing wastewater lagoons, an upgraded access road, a security fence and gate.  The facility will include adequate structures for material separation and waste collection, a garage / site office / washroom facility and will have a full time site attendant.

Latest update

March 29, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/proj/81081 and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
