Beardy's and Okemasis Cree Nation Water Treatment Plant Upgrades Project

Beardy's and Okemasis Cree Nation is proposing a Water Treatment Plant Upgrades Project.  The project includes construction of a new water treatment plant (WTP) building addition (with a floor area of approx. 350 sq.m), including an underground water storage reservoir (with a treated water volume of 735 cubic meters), a truck fill system with a heated concrete pad, loading dock, and the upgrade of the existing building. The WTP site work includes access roads and culvert replacement.

The project also includes the construction of 9.4 km of HDPE (with diameters of 100 mm, 150 mm, and 200 mm) of raw water main, including six water well pads and pumps and all tie-ins.


Latest update

April 5, 2024 - Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until May 4, 2024.
