Diversifying service offerings and increasing the capacity of the DG Canest Transit inc. terminal

The proposed project is part of the National Trade Corridors Fund (NTCF) financing agreement reached between Montreal Port Authority and Transport Canada. The objectives of the project are to diversify the service offerings and increase the capacity of the DG Canest Transit inc. terminal.

The project will take place at the sections 43 and 44 of the Port of Montreal (3700 Notre-Dame Est Street) and will include the following works

  • Adjusting and adding equipments inside the existing buildings;
  • Demolition of a administrative building;
  • Construction of a new hangar (12 meters high by 700 square meters);
  • Installing equipments in the hangar and connecting them to the existing building.

The work will be carried out from summer 2024 until fall 2026.

April 18 2024  – The Montreal Port Authority (MPA) and Transport Canada (TC) intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, they are inviting public comments until May 20 2024 respecting that determination.
