Clear Lake Cabin Area Kayak Launch Site

On the north side of the Clear Lake Campground Area, along the southern shore of Clear Lake, cabin owners have been storing their kayaks and canoes along the water's edge. Numerous watercrafts line the shoreline, and erosion along the upper slope and the water's edge is a concern both for ecological integrity and visitor safety. RMNP proposes to modify the existing drainage system by installing a pipe, drainage swale and catch basin to prevent storm water erosion, and to build an accessible trail using sustainable design standards that will facilitate safe access to the water while also reducing impacts to the vegetation and exposed tree roots. Native vegetation will also be planted to assist with erosion prevention.
