Demolition of Unnamed Building at Waggle Springs - Canadian Forces Base Shilo

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. The proposed project will entail the demolition of an unnamed 14.5 foot by 18.5 foot concrete block building that was constructed in 1964. The building was previously used as a junction for communication lines and has never been occupied. A hazardous materials survey completed in the Fall of 2017 indicates that no hazardous materials are present within the building. After the demolition materials have been removed from the site, the site will be leveled and graded to match.

In general, the work includes:

  • Removal of existing building material, mainly consisting of concrete and metal.
  • Any wires above ground/underground will be removed and trimmed back.
  • Tower anchors will be removed and anticipate being removed with a backhoe.
