Weirs rehabilitation in the Lac Saint-Pierre archipelago

The Fisheries and Oceans Canada/Canadian Coast Guard (DFO-CCG) project consists of upgrading the five (5) weirs located in the Lac Saint-Pierre archipelago. DFO-CCG is responsible for the safety, protection and accessibility of Canada's waterways. DFO-Quebec Region's Real Property and Environmental Management  (RPEM) Branch is the project proponent.

The scope of work on each weir could be different, but essentially consists of rehabilitating the existing structures by repairing damage and raising the crests to their original elevation to give them a new service life of around 40 years.

Latest update

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Real Property and Environmental Management  (DFO-RPEM) intends to make a determination whether the carrying out of this project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Biological environment studies from 2025 have been added to key documents.

To assist in this process, DFO-RPESS invites the public to submit any comments or concerns following the publication of this notice.
