Wahnapitae First Nation - Landfill Closure and Waste Transfer Station Construction

Wahnapitae First Nation is proposing a Landfill Closure and Waste Transfer Station Construction Project at their community. The proposed physical activities for the project will include: (minimal) site clearing; grading; landfill closure; construction of the waste transfer station operational gravel pad; placement of containers and bunker areas for different waste streams; construction of concrete foundation for an equipment storage building; and construction of drainage swales and ditches.


Latest update

August 21, 2024 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Indigenous Services Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
