Zhiibaahaasing - 10 Unit Housing Project

This 10 unit project will help fulfill the housing requirements and reduce the backlog for those in need of a place to live and to call home. Each unit will vary in size from smaller 2 bed unts to larger 3 and 4 bed units. Each unit will sit on a lot that measures 60m x 30m  and will require 24083 M square or 2.4 hectares of land as seen in attachment A. To complete this project will require clearing of all trees and lots to be grubbed of all brush and debris. The expected lifespan for this project will exceed 50 years. Infrastructure needed for this project will include power and communication  lines as well as water lines to all lots.Infrastructure needed for this project will include power and communication  lines as well as water lines to all lots. The activities involved will include lot location and surveying to be completed by contractors. Contractors will be hired to clear lots and prepared them for building.  There will be construction phases. Phase one will be completed in 2025 and will consist of 5 homes to be finished and ready to move in by late fall 2025. Phase 2 will have 5 homes built and ready to move in by early fall 2026. There will no decommisioning  involved in this project. There will be minimal construction waste generated by this project other than that of standard building materials. There will be no hazardous, liquid or gaseous materials generated form this project. Any waste will be removed by contractor. Quarry materials will consit of rock and gravel for driveway construction and backfilling of foundations and will transported in by truck by licensed contractor.

August 13, 2025 - The public comment period on the project is closed. ISC is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
